Lorna Krosnar

Lorna Krosnar is a ceramic artist based in Porthleven, she creates her pottery as a bridge between past and present with influences such as majolica and delftware. On a pottery wheel in her garden studio, Lorna throws each piece in a white earthenware clay, which is then adorned with intricate hand-painted and carved illustrations.
Lorna’s work subverts the familiar aesthetic of blue-and-white ceramics by weaving in a rich tapestry of influences, from the bold symbolism of traditional tattooing to the mythic narratives of Slavic folklore. This blend of histories reflects her own diverse journey, from growing up between Dorset and the Czech Republic to traveling the world before finally settling in Cornwall.
With a BA (hons) Art and design degree from Plymouth university specialising in ceramics and now working by the sea, Lorna translates her experiences into tactile, modern heirlooms
